Commercial Pilot Certificate



A commercial pilot certificate, also referred to as commercial pilot license (CPL), enables a pilot to fly for money, transporting passengers or cargo. With a CPL, you can get paid for various flying jobs, including:

  • Carrying cargo

  • Flying passengers

  • Skydiving pilot or train toward becoming a certified flight instructor (CFI), etc.

If you regularly attend flight school and follow a good schedule, you can achieve all your licenses and ratings relatively quickly. However, keep in mind that there is an aeronautical experience regulation stating you need at least 250 total flight hours. Choosing a faster training option has its advantages and disadvantages.
